How do I measure for a Custom Dining Chair Cover (Arms, Curved Back)?

This guide explains how to measure your dining chair with arms and a curved back for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Dining Chair Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 5 measurements to take, labelled A to E.

The measurements

A — Total width

The overall width of the chair at its widest, measured straight across from one outer edge to the other (across the arms if the chair has them).

B — Total depth

The overall front-to-back depth of the chair at its deepest.

C — Total height

The vertical height from the floor to the top of the backrest.

D — Height to top of arm

The vertical height from the floor to the top of the arm.

E — Width of backrest

The width across the backrest at its widest, as shown by arrow E.

Frequently asked questions

Which dining chair guide should I use?

Pick the one that matches your chair: first, does it have arms or is it armless; then match the back — straight, curved, barrel (wrapping round to form the arms) or open (a gap between the seat and the backrest). Choose the closest shape.

Do I measure with the seat cushion in place?

Yes. Measure the chair exactly as it will sit when covered, with any seat cushion in its normal position.

I have a set of matching chairs — do I measure each one?

If the chairs are identical, one set of measurements covers them all — just measure one. If they differ, measure each chair separately.

Can I measure in inches?

Yes. Measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover. Keep the same unit throughout.
