How do I measure for a Custom Sofa Cover (Wide Arm)?

This guide explains how to measure your wide-arm sofa for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Outdoor Sofa Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 4 measurements to take, labelled A to D.

The measurements

A — Total width

The overall width of the sofa from the outer edge of one arm to the outer edge of the other, measured straight across at the widest point.

B — Total depth

The overall front-to-back depth of the sofa at its deepest.

C — Total height (including cushions)

The vertical height from the floor to the top of the sofa with the seat and back cushions in place, as shown by arrow C.

D — Height to top of arm

The vertical height from the floor to the top of the arm, as shown by arrow D.

Frequently asked questions

Do I measure to the outside of the arms?

Yes. The total width (A) is measured straight across the full outside of both wide arms at the widest point, and the height to the top of the arm (D) is taken to the highest point of the arm.

Does the total height include the cushions?

Yes. Measurement C is the total height from the floor to the top of the sofa with the seat and back cushions in place, as you’ll leave them when covered.

My sofa is part of a larger set — should I measure the whole thing?

Measure the individual section this cover is for, as it sits. If you are ordering covers for several pieces, measure each one separately to its own guide.

Can I measure in inches?

Yes. Measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover. Keep the same unit throughout.
