How do I measure for a Custom Sofa Cover (Rolled Arm)?

This guide explains how to measure your rolled-arm sofa for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Outdoor Sofa Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 5 measurements to take, labelled A to E.

The measurements

A — Total width

The overall width of the sofa from the outer edge of one arm to the outer edge of the other, measured straight across at the widest point.

B — Total depth

The overall front-to-back depth of the sofa at its deepest.

C — Total height

The vertical height from the floor to the top of the backrest.

D — Depth from top of cushion to rear

The horizontal distance from the front top edge of the seat cushion back to the rear of the sofa, as shown by arrow D.

E — Height to top of arm

The vertical height from the floor to the top of the arm.

Frequently asked questions

Do I measure to the outside of the arms?

Yes. The total width (A) is measured straight across the full outside of both arms at the widest point, and the height to the top of the arm (E) is taken to the highest point of the arm.

Do I measure with the cushions in place?

Yes. Measure the sofa exactly as it will sit when covered, with the seat and back cushions in their normal positions.

My sofa is part of a larger set — should I measure the whole thing?

Measure the individual section this cover is for, as it sits. If you are ordering covers for several pieces, measure each one separately to its own guide.

Can I measure in inches?

Yes. Measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover. Keep the same unit throughout.
