How do I measure for a Custom Sofa Cover (U-Shape Sectional, Double Chaise)?
This guide explains how to measure your U-shape double-chaise sectional sofa for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Outdoor Sofa Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 12 measurements to take, labelled A to L.
Important
Provide exact measurements with no extra allowance added. Kuvr® adds a standard tolerance of +25 mm (1 in) to the width and depth for a comfortable fit; no allowance is added to the height. You can measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover.

The measurements
A — Total width
The overall width across the whole sofa at its widest, measured straight from one outer end to the other.
B — Total depth
The overall front-to-back depth at its deepest, across the chaises.
C — Total height
The vertical height from the floor to the top of the backrest.
D — Depth of left chaise
The front-to-back depth of the left chaise, as shown by arrow D.
E — Height of chaise
The vertical height from the floor to the top of the chaise seat.
F — Width of left chaise
The width of the left chaise, as shown by arrow F.
G — Inside depth, left chaise
The front-to-back depth of the left chaise measured along its inner edge, as shown by arrow G.
H — Width of centre section
The width of the central run of seats between the two chaises, as shown by arrow H.
I — Inside depth, right chaise
The front-to-back depth of the right chaise measured along its inner edge, as shown by arrow I.
J — Width of right chaise
The width of the right chaise, as shown by arrow J.
K — Width of armrest
The width across the armrest, as shown by arrow K.
L — Depth of back section
The front-to-back depth of the back (sofa) section, as shown by arrow L.
Frequently asked questions
Do I measure each module or the whole sofa?
Measure the whole U as one assembled piece, using the individual section dimensions labelled in the diagram (left, centre/opening and right). Don’t just measure one module and multiply — give each labelled measurement so we capture the true overall shape.
My U isn’t perfectly symmetrical — does that matter?
No. The guide asks for the left and right sides separately for exactly this reason. Measure each side as it actually is and send a couple of photos alongside your figures.
Do I measure with the cushions in place?
Yes. Measure the sofa exactly as it will sit when covered, with the seat and back cushions in their normal positions.
Can I measure in inches?
Yes. Measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover. Keep the same unit throughout.
