How do I measure for a Custom Curved Sectional Sofa Cover (Crescent)?
This guide explains how to measure your crescent curved sectional sofa for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Outdoor Sofa Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 10 measurements to take, labelled A to J.
Important
Provide exact measurements with no extra allowance added. Kuvr® adds a standard tolerance of +25 mm (1 in) to the width and depth for a comfortable fit; no allowance is added to the height. You can measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover.
Please include photos
Photos of your crescent curved sectional sofa, taken from a few angles alongside your measurements, help us understand the exact shape and get your cover right from the outset — curved sofas vary a lot, so photos are especially valuable here. Including a tape measure in shot for scale is ideal.
The measurements
A — Total width (straight across back)
The straight-line width across the back of the sofa, measured from one outer end to the other — not following the curve.
B — Total depth
The overall front-to-back depth of the sofa at its deepest, measured straight back from the front edge.
C — Total height
The vertical height from the floor to the top of the backrest.
D — Depth from top of cushion to rear
The horizontal distance from the front top edge of the seat cushion back to the rear of the sofa, as shown by arrow D.
E — Height to top of arm
The vertical height from the floor to the top of the arm.
F — Width across front
The width across the front of the sofa from one front outer corner to the other, as shown by arrow F.
G — Curve depth at front
The depth of the front curve — the distance from a straight line joining the two front ends to the deepest point of the front curve, as shown by arrow G.
H — Back curve length
The length measured along the curved back of the sofa, following the curve from one end to the other.
I — Height to top of seat
The vertical height from the floor to the top of the seat cushion, as shown by arrow I.
J — Front curve length
The length measured along the curved front of the sofa, following the curve from one end to the other.
Frequently asked questions
How do I measure a curved length?
Run a flexible tape measure — or a length of string — along the curve itself, following its shape from one end to the other, then read off the length. Don’t measure in a straight line across; the curve is always longer.
Do I measure with the cushions in place?
Yes. Measure the sofa exactly as it will sit when covered, with the seat and back cushions in their normal positions.
My sofa is modular — should I measure each section?
Measure the whole configuration as one assembled piece, as it will be covered. Give the overall dimensions plus the curve lengths shown in the diagram rather than the size of each individual module.
Can I measure in inches?
Yes. Measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover. Keep the same unit throughout.
