How do I measure for a Custom Adirondack Chair Cover (With Ottoman)?

This guide explains how to measure your adirondack chair with ottoman for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Adirondack Chair Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 8 measurements to take, labelled A to H.

Important

Provide exact measurements with no extra allowance added. Kuvr® adds a standard tolerance of +25 mm (1 in) to the width and depth for a comfortable fit; no allowance is added to the height. You can measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover.

Please include photos

Photos of your adirondack chair with ottoman, taken from a few angles alongside your measurements, help us understand the exact shape and get your cover right from the outset. Including a tape measure in shot for scale is ideal.

The measurements

A — Total width

The full width of the chair at its widest point, measured from the outside of one arm rest to the outside of the other.

B — Total depth

The full front-to-back depth of the chair and ottoman together, measured from the back of the chair to the front edge of the ottoman.

C — Total height

The vertical height from the ground up to the top of the backrest. Keep the tape vertical.

D — Depth of arm

The front-to-back depth of the arm rest, from the front tip of the arm to where it meets the backrest.

E — Height of ottoman

The vertical height from the ground up to the top of the ottoman.

F — Width of backrest

The width across the backrest at its widest point — narrower than the total width across the arms.

G — Height to top of arm

The vertical height from the ground up to the top of the arm rest.

H — Width of ottoman

The width across the ottoman, measured at its widest point.

Frequently asked questions

Is the ottoman covered too?

Yes — this set is measured as one. Give all eight measurements for the chair and the ottoman, and the cover is made to fit them together with the ottoman in place at the front.

Do I measure over the seat cushions?

If you keep cushions on and want them covered, measure with the cushions in place. If you store them separately, measure the bare chair and ottoman, and note which in your order.

My chair isn't quite the shape shown — what should I do?

Adirondack chairs vary in slat shape and fan-back styling. Measure to the closest points shown and send a couple of photos alongside your figures; we’ll confirm the exact fit from those.

Can I measure in inches?

Yes. Measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover. Keep the same unit throughout.
