How do I measure for a Custom Adirondack Chair Cover?
This guide explains how to measure your adirondack chair for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Adirondack Chair Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 6 measurements to take, labelled A to F.
Important
Provide exact measurements with no extra allowance added. Kuvr® adds a standard tolerance of +25 mm (1 in) to the width and depth for a comfortable fit; no allowance is added to the height. You can measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover.
Please include photos
Photos of your adirondack chair, taken from a few angles alongside your measurements, help us understand the exact shape and get your cover right from the outset. Including a tape measure in shot for scale is ideal.
The measurements
A — Total width
The full width of the chair at its widest point, measured from the outside of one arm rest to the outside of the other.
B — Total depth
The front-to-back depth at the deepest point, from the front edge of the seat to the back of the chair.
C — Total height
The vertical height from the ground up to the top of the backrest. Keep the tape vertical.
D — Width of backrest
The width across the backrest at its widest point — this is narrower than the total width across the arms.
E — Height to top of arm
The vertical height from the ground up to the top of the arm rest.
F — Width at front legs
The width across the front of the chair at the front legs, measured at the base.
Frequently asked questions
Do I measure over the seat cushions?
If you keep cushions on the chair and want them covered too, measure with the cushions in place. If you store them separately, measure the bare chair, and note which in your order.
Should I measure to the outside of the arms?
Yes. The total width is the widest point of the chair, which on an Adirondack is usually the outside of the two arm rests — measure to the outermost points, not the seat.
My chair isn't quite the shape shown — what should I do?
Adirondack chairs vary in slat shape and fan-back styling. Measure to the closest points shown and send a couple of photos alongside your figures; we’ll confirm the exact fit from those.
Can I measure in inches?
Yes. Measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover. Keep the same unit throughout.
