How do I measure for a Custom Bench Cover (Armless)?

This guide explains how to measure your armless bench for a custom-fitted Kuvr® garden furniture cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 4 measurements to take, labelled A to D.

The measurements

A — Total width

The full width of the bench, measured from the outside of one end to the outside of the other. This bench has no arms, so measure to the outer edges of the seat frame.

B — Total depth

The front-to-back depth at the deepest point, from the front edge of the seat to the back of the backrest.

C — Total height

The vertical height from the ground up to the top of the backrest. Keep the tape vertical.

D — Height to top of seat

The vertical height from the ground up to the top of the seat surface.

Frequently asked questions

Do I measure over the cushions?

If your bench has seat or back cushions and you want them left in place under the cover, measure with the cushions on. If you'll store the cushions separately, measure the bare bench, and note which in your order.

How far down should the cover reach?

Measure the bench itself — the width, depth and height shown — and we make the cover to those dimensions so it drops neatly over the frame. You don’t need to add anything for the drop.

My bench isn't shaped like any of the diagrams — what should I do?

Choose the diagram closest to your bench and send photos of it from a few angles alongside your measurements. We’ll use the photos to confirm the exact shape and get the fit right.

Can I measure in inches?

Yes. Measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover. Just keep the same unit throughout.
