How do I measure for a Custom Square Daybed Cover?

This guide explains how to measure your square daybed for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Outdoor Daybed Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. There are 7 measurements to take, labelled A to G.

Important

Provide exact measurements with no extra allowance added. Kuvr® adds a standard tolerance of +25 mm (1 in) to the width and depth for a comfortable fit; no allowance is added to the height. You can measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover.

Please include photos

Photos of your square daybed, taken from a few angles alongside your measurements, help us understand the exact shape and get your cover right from the outset. Including a tape measure in shot for scale is ideal.

The measurements

A — Total width

Total width is the overall width of the daybed, measured straight across the back from the outer edge of one side to the other. This is the widest point, taken from above.

B — Total depth

Total depth is the overall depth of the daybed, measured from the front edge straight back to the rear along the side.

C — Height to arm rest

This is the vertical height from the floor to the top of the arm rest. Measure straight up at the arm, keeping the tape vertical.

D — Width at front

Width at front is the width across the front of the daybed, measured straight across the front edge from side to side. This is often narrower than the total width at the back.

E — Height to top of mattress

This is the vertical height from the floor to the top of the mattress or seat cushion. Measure straight up at the front, with the mattress as it normally sits.

F — Depth to arm rest

This is the horizontal distance from the rear of the daybed forward to where the arm rest begins, measured along the side from above.

G — Depth of arm rest

Depth of the arm rest is the front-to-back length of the arm rest itself, measured along the top of the arm.

Frequently asked questions

Should I measure with the cushions and mattress in place?

Measure the daybed as it will sit under the cover, with the mattress in place. Remove loose scatter cushions before measuring, or note them, so the cover is cut to the daybed's true profile.

What if my daybed is not a standard shape?

Measure the closest shape shown here — standard, square, round, or round with canopy — and send photos. We confirm the exact pattern from your measurements and images before cutting.

Should I measure the daybed or my old cover?

Measure the daybed itself, with any existing cover removed. Measuring over an old cover adds thickness and gives an oversized result.
