How do I measure for a Custom Jet Ski Cover?
This guide explains how to measure your jet ski for a custom-fitted Kuvr® Jet Ski Cover, including each required measurement, where to take it, and how to record it accurately. Seven measurements, labelled A to G, are needed.
Important
Provide exact measurements of the jet ski with no extra allowance added. Kuvr® adds a standard tolerance of +25 mm (1 in) to the width and depth for a comfortable fit; no allowance is added to the height. You can measure in centimetres, inches, or metres — you choose your preferred unit when you configure the cover.
Please include photos
Photos of your jet ski, taken from a few angles alongside your measurements, help us understand the exact shape and get your cover right from the outset. Including a tape measure in shot for scale is ideal.
The measurements
A — Total length
Total length is the full length of the jet ski from the front tip of the bow to the rearmost point of the rear platform. Run the tape in a straight line along the centreline, viewed from directly above. Do not include the trailer or tow hitch.
B — Total depth (width at the widest point)
Total depth is the maximum width of the jet ski measured straight across the hull, side to side, at its widest point. Take this measurement from directly above. Include any rubbing strips or trim that sit at the widest part.
C — Total height
Total height is the vertical distance from the base of the hull to the highest point of the jet ski, which is usually the top of the handlebars. Measure straight up with the ski sitting level on the ground. Do not measure to a folded-down or removable accessory.
D — Height to top of rear seat
This is the vertical height from the base of the hull to the top of the rear seat. Measure straight up at the rear seat, keeping the tape vertical rather than following the angle of the seat.
E — Length from rear of platform to rear of seat
This is the horizontal distance from the rear edge of the rear platform to the rear edge of the seat. Measure it level, parallel to the ground, not along the curve of the hull.
F — Length from rear of seat to front of storage area
This is the horizontal distance from the rear edge of the seat forward to the front of the storage area at the bow. Measure it in a straight line, viewed from above.
G — Height to top of rear platform
This is the vertical height from the base of the hull to the top of the rear platform. Measure straight up at the rear platform, keeping the tape vertical.
Frequently asked questions
What if my jet ski has aftermarket accessories fitted?
If your jet ski has aftermarket accessories that extend beyond the standard profile — such as mirrors, a handlebar riser, or a rear rack — measure to the outermost point including those accessories, so the finished cover clears them. Note anything removable in your order.
Should I measure with a cover already on the jet ski?
No. Measure the bare jet ski with any existing cover removed. Measuring over another cover adds thickness and produces an oversized result.
What happens if I record a measurement incorrectly?
An incorrect measurement can produce a cover that is too tight or too loose. Provide exact figures with no added allowance, as Kuvr® applies the fitting tolerance during manufacture. If you are unsure, send photos alongside your measurements and we will check them before production.
Which unit should I measure in?
Use whichever you prefer — centimetres, inches, or metres. You select your unit when you configure the cover, so simply enter your measurements in that unit.
