Are your fabrics breathable?
No. Kuvr fabrics (NylonSafe and PVCArmour) are not breathable. They are fully waterproof and designed for long-term outdoor protection.
Instead of relying on breathable fabric, our covers manage moisture using integrated air vents that encourage airflow to help moisture escape.
This is a deliberate design choice. We could use breathable fabrics, but doing so would compromise our core commitment to waterproofness and durability.
Why aren't Kuvr fabrics breathable?
No material can be breathable and fully waterproof at the same time.
Breathable fabrics are typically water-resistant rather than waterproof. They handle light rain well but can struggle in prolonged heavy rainfall. They also tend to wear faster when exposed to harsh conditions like strong winds, hail, or snow.
Breathable fabrics may suit some lighter-use scenarios where full waterproofing isn't essential. Kuvr covers are built for the opposite: maximum protection in demanding outdoor environments.
How Kuvr covers handle moisture
All Kuvr outdoor covers include integrated air vents to promote airflow, help moisture escape, and reduce condensation risk over time.
This approach is more predictable than relying on fabric breathability. It's also more durable — and keeps the cover 100% waterproof.
What about condensation?
No outdoor cover can promise zero condensation. It can occur when temperatures change rapidly, humidity is high, items are covered while damp, or airflow around the cover is restricted.
This is true whether the fabric is breathable or not.
Our goal at Kuvr is to reduce risk, not make unrealistic claims. During seasonal temperature swings, a very occasional wipe-down is normal.
